GENERAL SUMMARY
The Account Assistant supports Account Managers by handling delegated servicing tasks, managing routine client needs, and ensuring timely and accurate processing of policies and endorsements.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Assists Account Manager with servicing customer accounts including phone calls and walk in customers. Completes insurance proposals and quotes for agents and producers. Issues binders, endorsements, cancellations/reinstatement notices, etc. Prepares and distributes certificates of insurance. Maintain accounts on agency management system. Processes insurance claims and loss notices. Assists Account Manager with renewals. Regular and reliable attendance. Assists with other job-related duties as assigned by manager. Communicate effectively in-person and otherwise with all coworkers and customers, both during regular business hours and before and after regular business hours, if necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of insurance products and services. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Agency Software. Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner. Ability to multi-task, and function as a team player. Ability to work with accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to operate various office machines including switchboard, adding machine, copy machine, etc. Ability to cross-sell insurance products.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent. Proper insurance licenses.

Benefits for employees working at least 35 hours per week include 8 paid holidays; 17 PTO days each year for the first five years of employment (employees must complete 90-day introductory period prior to accruing PTO); 16 hours of paid sick time upon hire date; health, dental, prescription drug card, vision, and voluntary life insurance plans; health savings account with employer contributions; flexible medical and dependent care spending plans; 401K plan after 3 months and start of next quarter with employer contributions and profit sharing; $50,000 group term life insurance; long term disability insurance and employee assistance program. If working less than 35 hours per week, above benefits are modified.
