Job Description

Job Summary:
Reports directly to the Underwriting Assistant Manager and performs various analytical tasks under general supervision in support of the underwriting department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collation and entry of data is required for the rating of new and renewal policies. Assists in the administration of assigned policies. Provides support to rate development through timely and accurate medical data analysis to ascertain future risks and support the underwriting and risk management decisions. Provides medical underwriting analysis for pricing and risk assessment selections including financial, business, and trend analysis of data critical for decision making in achievement of business objectives. Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Other Job Duties:
Work with finance, compliance, and claims to accomplish various projects or data requests.
Job Specifications:
A high school diploma is required. A college degree in business/finance, insurance or mathematics is a plus. Prior insurance industry experience is also a plus but not necessary as we will train. Effective team player. With good interpersonal relationship skills and can work and relate well with co-workers, vendors and customers. Must have the behavioral sensitivity, maturity, diplomacy and tact in addressing complex situations. Solid oral and written communication skills. Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity. Computer literacy is a must with proficiency in using MS office programs.
