Build your future with us Our Sales and Marketing department is seeking underwriting assistants to support our field marketing representatives with new business, policy processing, and agency service. This role will help to ensure an accurate and efficient workflow while delivering exceptional support to our agency partners. We are looking for detail-oriented, customer-focused professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are interested in building a career in the property and casualty insurance industry. This position is based at our Headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio. The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 hourly. The pay determination is based on the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus based on individual and company performance. Be ready to : support field marketing representatives throughout the new business and policy issuance lifecycle enter and maintain accurate policy, exposure, and risk information within underwriting and policy administration systems review applications and supporting documentation to ensure completeness and adherence to underwriting requirements manage key administrative and policy-processing activities before and after coverage is approved, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and delivered within service expectations communicate with agents and brokers via phone and email to obtain outstanding underwriting information and required documentation monitor underwriting workflows and assist in managing account activity to support timely quoting, binding, and issuance order and retrieve underwriting reports and insurance data through systems such as Cognos, AIMS Data Warehouse, SharePoint, and other internal platforms assist with policy servicing activities, endorsements, and administrative underwriting transactions support agency relationships by delivering responsive, professional customer service and operational support conduct web-based research and gather information necessary for underwriting decision-making Be equipped with : strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a customer service mindset the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other business applications; insurance systems experience is a plus the ability to learn underwriting concepts, workflows, and commercial insurance operations strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment comfort working in a production-driven environment with defined service and quality expectations knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance, policy processing, rating, or underwriting support functions is helpful but not required the ability to navigate multiple systems and web-based applications simultaneously a willingness to learn new technologies, processes, and insurance concepts a proactive approach to identifying solutions and improving workflow efficiency Bring education or experience from : high school diploma (required) associate's degree or bachelor's degree (preferred) prior experience in insurance, financial services, banking, customer service, administrative support, operations, or related business environments (preferred) Associate in Insurance (AINS) designation (preferred); completion within three years of hire (required) Enhance your talents Providing outstanding service and developing strong relationships with our independent agents are hallmarks of our company.
