Underwriting Specialist II Aon's Ian H. Graham Insurance serves insurance brokers representing community association clients. We have an exciting opportunity for a hybrid Underwriting Specialist II working out of our Fort Washington, PA, office. What the day will look like: The Underwriting Specialist II will be responsible for underwriting primarily Directors & Officers and Crime insurance. This position includes account management as well as underwriting review of renewal risks within designated affinity programs targeting the nonprofit habitational segment. The position requires the ability to review and analyze existing business, gather data, and assess risk against established management liability underwriting guidelines. Internal and external underwriting tools will be utilized to achieve accurate risk assessment while communicating/documenting underwriting. This position requires maintaining a detailed knowledge of underwriting guidelines, carrier forms, products, and competitive landscape.
Provide customer support and assistance to direct clients, brokers, and prospects to make recommendations and guide/educate on products. A key component of the position will be timely and accurate delivery of renewal proposals to retail agents/brokers to maintain program retention.
Responsible for underwriting, obtaining, and servicing policies and meeting retention goals. Review renewals to determine the best options for clients going forward.
The Underwriting Specialist II will achieve successful results through telephone work (both incoming and outgoing calls) along with correspondence via email, fax, and mail.
Monitors, tracks and follows-up on proposals to ensure customer and broker satisfaction.
Use sound judgment and independent thinking to achieve the maximum result within authority and state guidelines
Identify premium growth opportunities with current book by cross sell offering other coverage
Collect/monitor competitive intelligence on all key competitors within assigned areas; anticipate client's needs by contributing to research and development of products /endorsements
Work with clients or brokers to provide coverage overviews and clarifications
Works independently with moderate guidance and supervision
Actively seeks out new and challenging projects
Performs other duties as required Skills and experience that will lead to success: Property & Casualty license or must obtain within 90 days of hire
Insurance industry experience preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment
Self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented Experience with MS Office suite products, proficiency with Excel required.
Education:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $60,000 to $70,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
