In-Office Compensation:
$90,000 - $110,000 depending on experience | Bonus eligible Reports to: President / VP of Operations About Us Hallmark Building Corporation is a Charlotte, NC-based residential construction company specializing in infill townhomes, single-family spec homes, and high-end coastal duplexes. We operate across two markets — Charlotte and Wilmington, NC — and are approaching $20M in annual revenue with a clear trajectory to double over the next two years. We work alongside Galarde Development, our affiliated investment and acquisition entity that manages land procurement, investor partnerships, and project financing. Together, the two companies form a fully integrated residential development and construction platform. We are at an inflection point. This hire is critical to how we scale. The Role We are looking for a hands-on Controller to own the full financial operations of Hallmark Building Corporation and support Galarde Development. You will work directly with ownership, manage day-to-day accounting with the support of our office manager, and serve as the primary financial voice for the company. You are not walking into a fully built system. You will be expected to bring structure, improve processes, and produce reporting that leadership and investors can rely on. Responsibilities Accounting operations Own full-cycle accounting for both entities in QuickBooks Online Manage AP, AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations Oversee and direct our office manager on data entry and administrative accounting support Project Financial Management Maintain job cost reports for all active projects in BuilderTrend, tracking budgets vs. actuals Manage construction draw requests, lender documentation, and compliance reporting Flag cost variances and cash flow issues early Intercompany and Entity Accounting Manage financial coordination between Hallmark Building Corporation and Galarde Development Maintain clean separation of entity financials for tax, lender, and investor purposes Investor and Ownership Reporting Produce accurate monthly and quarterly financial reports for investors and ownership Maintain a rolling cash flow forecast Support capital raise efforts with organized, deal-level financial documentation Systems and Controls Improve use of QuickBooks Online and BuilderTrend for financial visibility Build and document financial processes and internal controls as the company scales Qualifications 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in construction or real estate development Demonstrated experience with job costing, construction draws, and lender compliance Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online; BuilderTrend experience a plus Experience managing accounting across multiple entities with intercompany transactions Ability to produce clear investor and ownership reporting Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred Comfortable working independently in a lean, fast-moving environment Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $90,000 - $110,000 depending on experience Performance-based bonus opportunities Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) How to Apply Send your resume and a brief overview of your construction or development accounting background to: Trey@hallmarkbuilding.com We review every application and respond to qualified candidates promptly.
