FUNCTION / SUMMARY
The primary role of the Financial Services Rep - Utility is to provide support to the branch within various roles, which requires the ability to travel to multiple offices in the designated region. In addition to the internal support, this position is responsible for upholding the outstanding reputation of the bank by providing unmatched hospitality and customer support while adhering to company policies and regulatory guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Works to build, maintain, and grow customer relationships through quality, personalized interactions based on excellent service, according to company standards. Identifies customer needs and makes appropriate referrals through excellent service efforts. Handles customer transactional needs such as processing deposits, withdrawals, check cashing requests, credit card advances and other forms of negotiable items. Safeguards the bank's assets and ensures the security of the working environment while processing transactions accurately. Maintains and balances a cash drawer, with extensive cash handling expected. Handles customer requests such as service charge questions, account maintenance, or research. Maintains a working knowledge of processes, products, and services offered. Verifies endorsements, receives proper identification, ensures validity, and identifies counterfeit currency. Examines checks deposited and determines proper funds availability based on regulatory requirements and completes hold notices when necessary and according to policy. Meets and greets the public in a professional manner that reinforces United Bank's service standards. Assists in managing operational loss to include seeking supervisory override for transactions outside of authority, proper hold placement for loss mitigation, and superior balancing. Accurately utilizes equipment and remains knowledgeable of equipment functionality to perform role. May function in a mentor capacity offering guidance, instruction, and training of peers enforcing policy and procedure. Functions in account opening or account maintenance capacity, as needed Develops knowledge of customer needs through in person and telephone interactions. Utilizes proactive sales/service efforts coupled with the recognition of referral opportunities to deepen customer relationships. Continually safeguard the bank's assets and security of the working environment while processing transactions accurately (deposits and withdrawals for transaction accounts, collection items, wire transfers, credit card transactions, and loan payments) Professionally, courteously and promptly greet and acknowledge all customers that walk into the office. Completes special requests such as taking orders for checks; preparing official checks; exchanging foreign currencies; providing special statement, copies, and completing safe-deposit box procedures. Any additional duties as assigned by management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
1+ years in banking, finance, or insurance field with experience in customer service and sales Identifying customer needs through service opportunities Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic computer proficiency with the ability to learn internal systems. Understanding of basic math concepts, cash handling, and transaction accuracy. Effective time management and attention to detail. Professional appearance, demeanor, and interpersonal skills. High School diploma or equivalent Proficiency in Microsoft Office products to include: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
PREFERRED, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
1+ years teller experience, maintaining and balancing a cash drawer 1+ years in banking, finance, or insurance field with experience in account opening Associate's degree or higher in business or finance

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear, stand or sit for long periods of time, open filing cabinets, walk, stoop or bend, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and complete tasks requiring manual dexterity.
