Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting high school and transition-aged students with occupational therapy expertise. You'll play a key role in empowering students to develop their fine and gross motor skills, contributing significantly to their academic and functional growth throughout the school year. This full-time position is based near Des Plaines, IL and runs from August 12, 2026 to May 21, 2027, offering stable hours and the chance to make a lasting impact across a cooperative setting.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering comprehensive occupational therapy services across a cooperative for students in 9th grade through transition programs Performing thorough evaluations and developing individualized treatment plans Implementing interventions focusing on fine and gross motor skills in both school-based and community contexts Collaborating closely with educators, staff, and families to ensure goal progress and service coordination Maintaining accurate records and progress documentation in accordance with school and healthcare standards Qualifications and desired experience: Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Illinois at assignment start Experience working in school settings with adolescents or young adults, particularly in life skills or transition programs Comfort delivering OT services across a range of settings, including home health and traditional school environments Strong communication and documentation skills Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program In this dynamic contract role, you'll enjoy consistent weekday hours of 7:30 am to 3:00 pm (with a 30-minute, duty-free lunch) and gain opportunities to collaborate and learn within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.
