Non-Exempt Summary A Speed Vegas Fire & Safety Team Member ensures the safety of guests, employees, the tracks, and facilities at all times. Duties may include fire prevention, vehicle fire containment, and emergency medical service Essential Functions Ensure the safety of the premises for guests and employees Inspect the track & premises for potential hazards before and during each shift Communicate with departments via radio/walkie talkie Maintain the conditions and requirement stated on Las Vegas Motorsports Park safety permit In the event of incipient fires, extinguish immediately Contain and evacuate for fires other than incipient fires Ensure employees are aware of the exact location of the fire firefighting equipment in the immediate area Maintain constant means of communication with track management Drive fire & safety vehicle Maintains communication with local fire departments Maintains all OSHA required regulations, documents, and certification Assists other departments with guest concerns All other duties as assigned Knowledge Knowledge of safety, accident and fire prevention Knowledge of vehicle fire extinguishing and extraction Knowledge of EMT procedures Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures and rules Skills Skill in using all required firefighting equipment Skill in evaluating and determining the proper equipment to use in an emergency Skill in directing and moving crows in an emergency Skilled in evaluating safety concerns and communicating with supervisor to remedy Abilities Ability to maintain composure and respond properly during emergencies Ability to communicate effectively Ability to work independently Ability to determine work priorities Physical Demands Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials; uses hands and arms in handling, installing positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things; performs repetitive physical activities or mental activities without stopping. Requires contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone or otherwise). Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. Unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the fire and safety trade. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; to stand; to walk; to see; to use a radio; be on feet for extended periods; to use hands; to drive; potential to be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must be able to work in outside temperatures of up to 120 F in summer and 30 F in winter and regularly hear loud, repetitive noise. Required Education and Experience CPR/AED trained EMT Fire service school or equivalent Valid Driver's License Minimum 5 years professional fire fighter experience High school diploma or equivalent Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This position is part-time and regularly requires early morning, late night, and weekend shifts.
