Firefighter/EMT Amelia County Fire & EMS
  • Amelia, VA Full-Time | Multiple Positions Available Overview Amelia County Fire & EMS is committed to delivering high-quality emergency response and fire protection services to our community.
We are seeking motivated, dependable individuals to join our team as Firefighter/EMTs. In this role, you'll respond to emergencies, provide critical medical care, and support fire suppression operations—all while working alongside a dedicated team of professionals in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Key Responsibilities Respond to emergency calls, including: Structure and vehicle fires Motor vehicle accidents Hazardous materials incidents Medical emergencies requiring basic and advanced life support Provide patient care within EMT-Basic scope, including: Patient assessments Airway management and oxygen therapy CPR and defibrillation Assisting ALS providers Safely operate emergency vehicles and transport patients to medical facilities Operate and maintain fire and EMS apparatus and equipment Complete detailed patient care reports and incident documentation Conduct daily and monthly apparatus and equipment checks Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and fleet maintenance coordination Participate in quality assurance and improvement programs Engage in community outreach and public safety initiatives Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Must be at least 21 years of age Valid Virginia driver's license (or ability to obtain) with acceptable driving record Virginia EMT-Basic certification CPR certification for Healthcare Providers

Firefighter I and II Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course)
  • Class III Additional Certifications (or ability to obtain within 1 year): Basic Pump Operator (BPO) Rural Water Operations Preferred Skills & Abilities Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Physical fitness required for firefighting duties Ability to work in extreme conditions, confined spaces, and at heights Dependability, flexibility, and a positive attitude Work Schedule 24-hour shifts Include mandatory overtime Benefits Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) Life Insurance Paid Time Off Retirement Plan How to Apply Applications are available online at www.
