Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at Southeast Middle School as a Full-Time Educational Support Professional (ESP). This role is essential in providing academic and emotional support to middle school students, fostering a positive learning environment, and collaborating with teachers and staff to enhance student success. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting student engagement and well-being, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive. Responsibilities Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities, ensuring that students are engaged and supported in their learning. Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who may require additional assistance, including those with diverse learning needs. Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their academic and social goals. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other staff to create and maintain an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Assist in the preparation and organization of instructional materials and resources. Help manage classroom behavior and implement positive behavior interventions to promote a respectful and productive learning atmosphere. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to supporting middle school students. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, fostering strong relationships that support student growth and development. Perform additional duties as assigned by the school administration to support the overall mission and goals of Southeast Middle School. Requirements Educational Aide Permit from Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Previous experience working with middle school students or in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Knowledge of diverse learning styles and strategies to support students with varying needs. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and independence. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to support student learning. Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and equitable learning environment for all students. Certification or training in first aid and CPR is a plus.
