A Military Specialist operates and maintains vehicles and mechanical equipment pertinent to mission success, whether on the sea, land or in the air. May monitor communication, detection, or weapons systems during operations. Interprets and evaluates tactical situations, making recommendations to supervisors. May operate weapons targeting, firing, and launch systems whether during combat or peacetime. In addition to their combat training, they have also specialized training in swimming, diving, parachuting, survival, emergency medicine, and foreign languages. Duties include conducting advanced reconnaissance operations and collecting intelligence information; recruiting, training, and equipping friendly forces; conducting raids and invasions on enemy territories; laying and detonating explosives for demolition targets; locating, identifying, defusing, and disposing of ordnance; and operating and maintaining sophisticated communications equipment.

VI - CANES
Administrator / C2I Systems Specialist to support the Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) in Mayport, Florida. The successful candidate will provide technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, administration, and fleet technical assistance for the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) architecture and associated Command, Control, and Intelligence (C2I) systems aboard U.S. Navy surface combatants. The position directly supports fleet readiness by restoring, maintaining, and improving mission-critical network, communications, and computing capabilities. Primary Responsibilities Provide Fleet Technical Assistance (FTA) for CANES and associated C2I systems aboard U.S. Navy ships. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, virtualization, server, network, and workstation issues impacting mission readiness. Support installation, configuration, testing, modernization, and sustainment of CANES enclaves and shipboard networks. Perform system assessments, casualty response, root-cause analysis, and corrective maintenance actions. Support cybersecurity compliance, endpoint management, patch management, account administration, and system hardening activities. Conduct system validation, operational testing, and certification support. Generate and maintain technical documentation, TAVRs, ESRs, LARs, and related fleet maintenance records. Utilize Navy maintenance and logistics systems to track discrepancies, repairs, and support requirements. Provide technical training and guidance to shipboard personnel regarding operation and maintenance of CANES and C2I systems. Coordinate with Government engineers, system commands, waterfront maintenance activities, and fleet stakeholders to resolve technical issues. Minimum Qualifications Three (3) years of full-time hands-on experience within the last seven (7) years performing Fleet Technical Assistance on U.S. Navy CANES, ISNS, ADNS, GCCS-M, or related C2I systems. Active DoD IAT Level I Certification required. Current Microsoft 365
Certified:
Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102) certification required. Minimum one year of experience utilizing Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Active SECRET Security Clearance required. U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain access to U.S. Navy installations and vessels. Preferred Qualifications Experience administering CANES enclaves and virtualized server environments. Experience with Microsoft Server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint management. Experience supporting cybersecurity requirements under DoD and Navy guidance. Previous service as a Navy Information Systems Technician (IT), Electronics Technician (ET), or related technical specialty. Experience supporting Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs), NAVSEA programs, or waterfront maintenance organizations. Travel Requirements Position requires periodic CONUS and OCONUS travel in support of U.S. Navy ships and fleet operations. Technical positions are expected to perform work approximately 75% at SERMC Mayport, 15% at other CONUS locations, and 10% at OCONUS locations. Work Environment Work is performed in both office and shipboard environments and may include work aboard operational naval vessels, in industrial settings, confined spaces, and elevated locations. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and safely navigate shipboard spaces.
