Summer Trades Apprenticeship Tampa Bay Area REBUILD Tampa Tampa, FL Job Details Temp-to-hire | Full-time | Apprenticeship $15 an hour 1 day ago Benefits On-the-job training Safety equipment provided Qualifications Safe work practices High school diploma or GED Power tools Entry level Full Job Description Are you graduating this year and tired of hearing that a four-year degree is the "only" way to succeed? If you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, and seeing the results of your hard work at the end of the day, it's time to look at the trades. We are looking for motivated high school graduates in the Tampa Bay area (Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties) to join our 8-week Summer Bridge Program . This isn't just a summer job—it's a paid audition for your future career. The Opportunity We match you with a reputable local employer in industries like HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Construction, or Precision Manufacturing . You'll spend your summer learning the ropes from pros who have spent decades in the field.
Pay:
$15.00 per hour
Duration:
8 weeks (June & July)
Schedule:
Monday - Friday | Daytime hours | 30 to 40 hours per week
The Goal:
Show up, work hard, and learn. If you impress your employer, many of our partners offer full-time positions with benefits starting in August. What You'll Be Doing No two days are the same in the trades, but you can expect to: Assist lead technicians and journeymen on active job sites. Learn to identify and safely use professional-grade power tools and equipment. Help with site prep, organization, and basic installations. Follow strict safety protocols to ensure a "zero-accident" environment.
Be a sponge:
Absorb the technical knowledge needed to become a master of your craft. Who You Are We don't expect you to be an expert yet—that's what the program is for.
We are looking for:
Recent High School Graduates:
You must have your diploma (or be on track to receive it by June).
Reliable Workers:
You show up on time, every time. In the trades, if you're early, you're on time; if you're on time, you're late.
Active Learners:
You aren't afraid to get your hands dirty and you ask "why" so you can learn the "how."
Local Residents:
You must have reliable transportation to job sites across the Tampa Bay area. Why Choose the Trades? The "Skills Gap" is real—there are more jobs in the trades than there are people to fill them. By starting now, you are entering a field with:
High Earning Potential:
