Job Summary:
(Flatbed Operator) Operate towing equipment safely, professionally, and promptly to complete any and all Scorpion Towing services to ensure high quality standards and response times for all Motor clubs, state agencies, or private customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Must be able to safely operate tow truck equipment in parking lots, neighborhoods, busy highways, congested city areas, and mountain roads. Provide prompt and efficient Roadside Assistance such as jump-starts, tire changes, fuel deliveries, lockouts, winch out recoveries and towing while ensuring company and customer vehicles are safe at all times. Must be able to load and unload vehicles onto tow truck safely without damage. Provide superior customer service with all motorists and public agency officials ensuring a positive and professional image at all times. Complete all documentation required via a smartphone app by inspecting every vehicle for per-existing damage before and after each service which includes photographing and documenting all pertinent information. Collect and secure all monies due from customers before completion of service. Maintains app or telephone contact with dispatcher to receive instructions or changes to dispatch. Complete thorough truck safety inspections before/during/after all work shifts. Follow all federal Department of Transportation, state, and local regulations as well as company safety, environmental, and fleet related policies Other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
Must be able to preform well under extreme weather conditions including snow, ice, rain, hail, heat and other elements. Ability to work under pressure during high call volume seasons and in busy/dangerous environments. Able to work in awkward positions throughout the day including kneeling, bending, reaching and laying under vehicles Capable of lifting 50+lbs multiple times throughout the day in potentially dangerous surroundings Must be able to work various shifts up to 12 hours and in some case may be asked to be On-Call nights and weekends.
Must maintain the capacity to:
learn and adapt to new and evolving procedures, willingly react quickly to instructions, and resolve problems during difficult situations.

Flatbed - light duty, medium duty Smart Phone, mobile apps, GPS systems, email Load securement: chains, straps, winch Skates, Go-Jacks, Dollies Service equipment for
Jumpstarts, Tire Changes, Fuel Deliveries Education and Experience:
Must have a valid driver's license Towing experience and preferred Operating a tow truck: at least 1 year Possess a strong mechanical aptitude/ability and basic computer skills Clean Motor Vehicle Record Required High School Diploma or GED Must be at least 30 years of age Familiar with DOT regulations Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquires, and to make entries on reports and records Must be able to pass background check and drug test
