Job Description

Job Summary This position is responsible for providing fleet clerk support for the Webb County Sheriff's Office Operations. Major Duties Assist the Fleet Coordinator in the daily operations of fleet vehicles. Assist with delivering Webb County Sheriff's vehicles to the mechanic for repairs. Assist with fleet inventory and order parts for Webb County Sheriff's vehicles from vendors. Performs any other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of county and departmental policies and procedures. Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs. Skill in prioritizing and organizing work. Skill in the use of standard office equipment. Skill in oral and written communication. Must be able to multitask. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language. Minimum Qualifications Must have a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Supplemental Information Complexity/Scope of Work The work consists of related fleet clerk duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position. Physical Demands/Work Environment Occasionally Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles. Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Adjusting or moving objects up to 60 pounds in all directions. Operating machinery and/or power tools. Working in low temperatures. Working in high temperatures. Working in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind. Working in noisy environments. Working in hazardous conditions. Working in small and/or enclosed spaces. Working in adverse environmental conditions is expected. Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Medium work that includes carrying objects up to 50 pounds. Constantly Moving oneself in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces. Moving to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Communicating with others to exchange information. Repeating motions that may include the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment. Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Driving a county vehicle or a personal vehicle for County business. Light work that includes carrying objects up to 20 pounds. Other Requirements/Information Must possess a valid and current driver's license. The Webb County Drug and Alcohol Policy applies to this position. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and a criminal background check are required. This position is not covered under Civil Service; however, all other Webb County policies apply. Valid Texas Driver's License
