Job Description

Position Overview We are looking for a skilled, self-motivated Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our growing team. This is a comprehensive fleet maintenance role — candidates should understand upfront that this position goes well beyond engine and transmission repairs. Our technicians are responsible for keeping every vehicle in the fleet operational, safe, and road-ready, which means handling a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, and accessory work on a daily basis. You will be expected to take ownership of the work in front of you, think critically when diagnosing problems, and adapt to whatever maintenance and repair needs arise across the fleet. Key Duties & Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, and related drivetrain components to keep vehicles performing at spec Inspect, replace, and repair all vehicle lighting including headlights, brake lights, turn signals, and auxiliary lighting Install, configure, and maintain fleet cameras and two-way radio communication systems Service, repair, and replace shocks, air bags, and suspension components to ensure safe handling and load capacity Perform all preventive and corrective maintenance required to keep the fleet road-ready, including fluid services, brake work, belts, filters, and any additional repairs that arise Identify root causes of mechanical, electrical, and accessory problems and apply effective solutions to minimize vehicle downtime Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience in diesel fleet mechanics; broad hands-on skill set required — this role is not limited to engine or transmission work CDL license preferred; New Mexico residents without a CDL may be eligible for company-sponsored CDL training New Mexico residency strongly preferred for applicants who do not currently hold a CDL (CDL training is not available to Texas residents) Ability to diagnose problems independently and work efficiently with minimal supervision Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screening (see drug policy below) Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe and professional work environment Compensation & Benefits $24-$28 per hour based on experience and qualifications Overtime pay for all hours worked beyond 40 per week Employer covers 87% of employee health insurance premiums Retirement benefits available to eligible employees Paid sick leave and PTO Company-sponsored CDL training available for qualified New Mexico residents Drug & Alcohol Policy All candidates are subject to pre-employment drug testing. Employees are also subject to random drug and alcohol screening throughout employment in compliance with FMCSA regulations. While New Mexico has enacted recreational marijuana laws, marijuana remains a prohibited substance under federal FMCSA standards. CDL holders and CDL candidates must be free of marijuana and all other prohibited substances regardless of state law.
