This position with the Duininck Construction team offers the opportunity to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of heavy-duty trucks and trailers, helping keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready to support successful project delivery.The Role:
Diagnose and repair issues related to engines, brakes, hydraulics, transmissions, steering systems, drive trains, and electronic components on semis, tandems, tri-dumps, and multiple trailer types. Utilize diagnostic software such as Cummins Insite or CAT SIS to troubleshoot problems and support safe, efficient repairs. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance projects in the shop and the field as needed. Assist with field repairs and travel to job sites to complete diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and mechanical work. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including time, materials used, inspections, and parts replaced. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all company safety standards and procedures. Collaborate closely with other technicians and shop team members to complete work efficiently and effectively.Work Environment:
Work in a shop setting and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch, and sit for extended periods. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Regularly work extended or overtime hours depending on project needs. Travel throughout Central & Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and the Eastern Dakotas. What weLook For:
Two-year technical degree or 3+ years of related experience (preferred). Experience performing diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, trailers, hydraulic systems, and electrical components. Knowledge of construction equipment maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and diesel engines. Proficiency with diagnostic platforms such as Cummins Insite and CAT SIS. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and documentation practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams) and willingness to learn applicable business systems. Class A CDL is preferred. Not sure you meet all the requirements?
