Fleet & Routing Coordinator Job Summary Transportation company with a high degree of customer involvement in the day
  • to-day business.
Responsible for routing and dispatching day to day operations with trucks and warehouse Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Excellent computer skills required. Heavy DOT/regulatory compliance element. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced & high-volume shipping office a must Geographic knowledge of NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, VA and the Northeast in general is a must Coordinate warehouse and distribution activities Dispatch at least 10+ medium and heavy duty drivers and trucks Coordinate all activities related to operations related to providing supply deliveries, pickups and miscellaneous services. General Accountabilities Reviews work orders, route sheets, customer requests or complaints and records type and scope of service to be performed. Determines and schedules orders and pickups according to urgency Receives check in calls from drivers by telephone or in person Informs employees of type and location of work to be performed and dispatches accordingly Manage maintenance and PM records for company vehicles Maintain records related to compliance with DOT regulations. Plan and implement energy-saving changes, such as reducing routes, optimizing capacities, employing alternate modes of transportation, or minimizing idling. Plan, develop, or implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities. Confer with management to coordinate warehouse activities, such as production or purchasing. Develop or implement plans for facility modification or expansion, such as equipment purchase or changes in space allocation or structural design. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes. Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate. Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time Job Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent education 5-10 years logistics related job experience
Experience:
At least 3 years of routing experience.
License:
Valid state driver's license and clean driving record Hazmat endorsement and Haz Waste experience preferred
Education:
