Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fleet Service Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining a robust and reliable fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. In this energetic role, you will perform comprehensive repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of industrial, agricultural, and transportation machinery. Your expertise will ensure our fleet customers operate safely, efficiently, and at peak performance, supporting our commitment to excellence in service delivery. Duties Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and trailers using schematics and electrical testing tools. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic system servicing to keep equipment running smoothly. Repair diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC units, shocks & struts, and other mechanical components with precision using hand tools and power tools. Fabricate custom parts or modifications as needed for equipment repair or enhancement utilizing welding and soldering techniques. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform necessary repairs to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards. Maintain detailed service records including work performed, parts used, and diagnostics for each vehicle or piece of equipment. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and equipment assembly to support operational needs across various job sites. Qualifications Proven experience as a mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment repair background preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, suspension systems, and HVAC repair. Hands-on experience with heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons and other maintenance tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various working conditions. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients alike. Valid certifications related to diesel engine repair, brake systems (including air brakes), alignment services or welding are highly desirable.
