Director of Operations Job Overview:
The Fleet Service Specialist at Pelor Outdoor Landscape Solutions is responsible for managing, maintaining, and servicing the company's 20 vehicles, 18 trailers, and equipment to ensure all assets are safe, operational, and compliant with company standards for Orlando. This position plays a critical role in reducing downtime, extending the life of the fleet, and ensuring all field teams have reliable transportation and equipment to perform their duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on company vehicles, and equipment. Maintain service logs and accurate maintenance records for all company vehicles and equipment. Coordinate with vendors for outsourced repairs, parts ordering, and warranty work. Inspect and service equipment (mowers, weed eaters, blowers, etc.). Conduct vehicle and equipment checks to ensure safety compliance. Manage inventory of fleet-related parts, tools, fluids, and supplies. Track and document fuel usage and maintenance schedules. Ensure proper licensing, registration, and insurance documentation is maintained for all vehicles and trailers. Assist with emergency roadside repairs or towing coordination. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fleet yard and service areas. Safe, clean, and operational vehicles and equipment across all departments. Accurate, up-to-date maintenance logs and records. Reduced fleet downtime through preventative maintenance practices. Extended lifespan of fleet assets. Compliance with safety and operational standards. Timely response to service requests or breakdowns.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of vehicle maintenance or fleet service experience preferred. Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles, trailers, and small engines equipment. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. 50 Hour Work Week Must be able to safely operate a 1-ton pickup truck with attached trailered equipment, including the ability to back up and maneuver trailers. CDL License or other relevant certifications are a plus but not required. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Basic knowledge of safety standards and compliance regulations. MUST have own tools AND vehicle diagnostics scanner tablet for GM, FORD and DODGE truck models.
