Fleet Technician A PENN Power Group vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) United States, Pennsylvania, Wind Ridge Apr 21, 2026 Description The Underground Mine Diesel Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel-powered equipment used in underground mining operations. This role ensures all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Take your career to the next level as a Fleet Technician. Compensation:
Hourly range up to $45/hour - This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. RequirementsYOU HAVE EXPERIENCE
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on underground diesel equipment including loaders, haul trucks, drills, bolters, and support equipment Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and procedures Conduct safety inspections and identify potential hazards or equipment deficiencies Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering components, and hydraulic systems Complete work orders, service reports, and maintenance logs accurately and in a timely manner Follow all underground mining safety regulations and company safety policies Perform lockout/tagout procedures prior to maintenance or repairs Work in confined spaces and challenging underground environments Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding equipment status and repair needs Maintain tools and work area in a clean and organized conditionYOU MAY ALSO HAVE
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a diesel technician (mining or heavy equipment preferred) Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrain components Experience with underground mining equipment is highly desirable Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and technical documents Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred) Positivity, adaptability, creativity, energy. Superior ability to fill out forms and charts. Superior skill and ability to utilize computer driven vehicle diagnostic software. Considerable ability to perform vehicle and equipment overhaul and repair safely, effectively and efficiently. ASE certifications Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or trainingWE OFFER
