Job Description

Green View has been serving Central Illinois since 1955, a family-owned landscape design, installation, and maintenance company with locations across Peoria, Bloomington, Springfield, and Champaign. Three generations of the Hoerr family have built this company on doing great work and treating people right. We take pride in our crews and in the properties we maintain. Position Overview As a Fleet Technician/Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of a diverse fleet of landscaping vehicles and equipment. You will keep our crews running safely and efficiently by making sure everything from mowers and trimmers to trucks and trailers is ready when the team needs it. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Perform regular maintenance checks on all gasoline and diesel vehicles and equipment Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner Demonstrate working knowledge of electrical, powertrain, chassis, brake, and hydraulic systems Perform welding tasks on equipment as needed Monitor, order, and maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance work performed Work closely with the Operations team to ensure vehicles and equipment are available and ready for use Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment at all times What We're Looking For 2 or more years of mechanic experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, and chainsaws Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; Class B CDL a plus Ability to pass a DOT physical Must supply a complete set of personal tools necessary to perform job duties Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Comfortable working independently and as part of a team What Green View Offers Competitive hourly pay based on experience Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays 401(k) retirement plan with company match Group Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance All job-specific equipment, uniforms, and safety gear provided Employee referral bonus program Company cell phone plan Real opportunity to grow, we promote from within Green View is an Equal Opportunity Employer and an Affirmative Action employer.
