Job Description
Flexographic Press Operator - Manufacturing | Non-Exempt Identification Products is a growing manufacturer of high-performance labels and printed products serving industries such as Medical, Industrial, Electronics, Telecom, Security, and Commercial. We are seeking an experienced Flexographic Press Operator to join our Roll Label Department, operating Mark Andy narrow-web presses. The ideal candidate will have experience with flexographic printing, strong troubleshooting ability, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on quality and on-time delivery. Position Summary The Flexographic Press Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and quality output of narrow web flexographic printing presses. This role requires a strong understanding of printing processes, color control, registration, die cutting, and material handling to produce labels that meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. Operators are expected to maintain a high level of accuracy, productivity, and equipment care while working closely with scheduling, quality, prepress, and finishing departments. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Setup and operate Mark Andy narrow web flexographic presses Review job travelers, customer prints, proofs, and specifications prior to production Perform press setup including plates, dies, inks, anilox rolls, tooling, and material loading Run production jobs efficiently while maintaining quality standards and minimizing waste Monitor color consistency, registration, print quality, and die cut performance throughout production Perform color matching and verification using X-Rite spectrophotometer equipment Troubleshoot print defects, registration issues, material concerns, and press-related problems Perform routine press maintenance, cleaning, and preventative maintenance tasks Accurately complete production paperwork and material tracking Inspect finished labels to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal quality requirements Work closely with Quality, Prepress, Scheduling, and Finishing departments to ensure smooth workflow Maintain organization and cleanliness within the press area Assist with training and mentoring less experienced operators as needed Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, setup reduction, and productivity QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or GED Minimum 3 years of Flexo printing Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Ability to read and interpret job travelers, blueprints, and production specifications Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Basic computer skills Preferred Experience operating Mark Andy flexographic presses Narrow web label printing experience Experience with pressure-sensitive labels and die cutting Color management experience using X-Rite or similar systems Experience with UV inks, laminations, varnishes, and specialty materials Manufacturing, machining, or converting experience Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Ability to work in a production environment with moving machinery and moderate noise levels Ability to maintain focus and accuracy while working under deadlines Work Environment This position operates within a manufacturing production environment. The role requires the ability to work safely around industrial printing equipment while maintaining productivity and quality standards in a deadline-driven environment. Pay:
