Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Press Operation :

Start presses and check proofs for ink alignment, registration, density, and coverage. Make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal print quality.

Paper Loading :

Load paper onto presses, adjusting settings to accommodate various paper sizes.

Plate Adjustments :

Adjust printing plate tolerances to meet desired parameters for each press run.

Clean Up :

Clean printing unit cylinders, plates, and ink fountains at the completion of each press run.

Error Monitoring :

Monitor automated press systems, responding to error, alert, or fault messages, and make minor repairs using hand tools.

Feeding Paper :

Feed paper through press cylinders, adjusting tension and feed controls as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting :

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Vision :

Specific vision abilities required for the role, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Standing :

Ability to stand for extended periods (12-hour shifts, either day or night).

Manual Dexterity :

Ability to operate push buttons and move plate sleeves.

Measurement Skills :

Ability to measure in both Imperial and metric increments (to 1/16th of an inch and millimeters).

Qualification Requirements:

Required :

1 to 2 years of experience as a Flexo Printing Press Operator . Ability to use a ruler or tape measure for measurements in both Imperial and metric increments. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and make minor repairs. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to operate push buttons and adjust machine controls as needed. Ability to stand for the duration of a 12-hour shift, either during the day or night.

Preferred :

Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Knowledge of press operation systems and maintenance procedures. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
