THE WORK
The Hydraulic & Mechanical Flight Controls Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and manufacturing of aircraft flight control hardware. As a key member of our Flight Controls team, you will:
  • Develop & Maintain 3 D Solid Models
  • Build and update models of pushrods, bell cranks, supports, cable systems, servos, hydraulic pumps, valves, filters, reservoirs, and associated plumbing using3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) or CATIAV5 with LCA.
  • Conduct Finite Element Stress Analyses
  • Perform ANSYS simulations on components and assemblies, applying geometric tolerancing and dimensioning to validate structural integrity.
  • Support Manufacturing Installation
  • Assist manufacturing teams during component installation, troubleshooting fit and function issues on the shop floor.
  • Generate Technical Documentation
  • Produce and maintain design documentation, status reports, and installation guides for internal design and cross functional teams.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline
  • Proven experience with mechanical systems design.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic system components (pumps, valves, reservoirs, filters)
Desired Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in3DX, CATIAV5, LCA, MatrixOne, and ANSYS
  • Experience with Geometric Tolerancing

Work Remotely:
Part-time Remote Telework:
The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
