Job Description

Kitchen Manager / Café Lead (Part-Time) Third Street Academy - Greenville, NC Overview Third Street Academy is a growing, mission-driven Christian boys school in Greenville, NC focused on strong academics, leadership, and character development. We are seeking a Kitchen Manager / Café Lead to lead our on-site lunch program, serving approximately 50-75 students daily. This role is responsible for preparing meals, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and compliance, and ensuring a consistent, positive dining experience for our students. This is a part-time position (25-29 hours per week) aligned with the school calendar. Responsibilities Prepare and serve daily lunch meals for students and staff Plan simple, nutritious menus and manage food preparation accordingly Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment Ensure full compliance with health and food safety regulations Monitor food temperatures, sanitation practices, and required logs Manage food ordering, inventory, and operate within a defined budget Supervise and work alongside a cafeteria assistant Oversee kitchen workflow, service timing, and daily cleanup Ensure meals are served on time and with a positive, service-oriented approach Maintain consistency and reliability in daily operations Requirements Experience in food service, cafeteria, or kitchen operations (management experience preferred) Ability to cook and prepare meals for groups efficiently Strong organization, reliability, and attention to detail Ability to plan menus and manage food costs within a budget Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices ServSafe Manager Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Ability to lead and work with a small team (cafeteria assistant) Positive, service-oriented attitude and strong work ethic Alignment with a Christian, mission-driven school environment Ability to stand, lift, and work in a kitchen setting
Schedule & Compensation Hours:
25-29 hours per week (school-day schedule)
Pay:
