Food Development Specialist:
Monticello, WI We are looking for a Food Development Specialist to drive product innovation within our dynamic food manufacturing facility. By managing technical processes related to formulation, regulatory adherence, sensory testing, and food safety, this position is essential for the successful launch of new products. You will work alongside various teams to guarantee that all items are scalable, high-quality, and fully compliant with industry standards. Primary Duties Assist in the creation, testing, and scaling of new food formulations Facilitate sensory testing and help manage programs for validating product shelf-life Help maintain a safe working environment by conducting risk assessments and ensuring HACCP compliance Analyze raw ingredients to verify their safety, functionality, and regulatory status Ensure accurate labeling by managing ingredient lists and Nutrition Facts Panels according to FDA guidelines Improve product consistency by executing stability, shelf-life, and microbiological testing Support the transition from research concepts to full-scale manufacturing by troubleshooting formulation issues Serve as a primary resource for addressing quality and food safety questions Enhance overall product quality by applying culinary expertise and technical knowledge to evaluate texture and flavor Qualifications and Background A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related discipline like Microbiology, Dairy Science, or Food Engineering is mandatory Candidates must have between 2 and 5 years of professional experience within R&D, product development, or food manufacturing environments Demonstrated expertise in FDA labeling regulations, shelf-life validation, and food safety protocols is essential Proficiency in nutritional labeling software, specifically Genesis, is highly desirable Compensation and Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Life insurance policy Short-term disability coverage Flexible spending accounts 401(k) retirement plan featuring a 3.5% employer match Incentive bonus structure Paid time off Professional development and training Weekly compensation Direct deposit payroll Additional Information Please be aware that this position does not provide relocation support or visa sponsorship.
