This includes anchoring the roles and responsibilities within the FSQR team as it relates to overall operations support, from raw materials to finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the APC and its stakeholders. It also includes all leading and supporting all regulatory compliance - including programs related to FDA, USDA, EPA and OSHA guidelines.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provides direct leadership and mentoring of the FSQR staff and is responsible for their development and performance.Duties/Responsibilities:
Oversees and enforces quality control standards to ensure that products meet all established quality and safety criteria. In conjunction with the Director of FSQR Compliance, be and stay current with all State, Federal and local regulatory agencies. Serves as the main advisor of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) matters with the facility leads to ensure policies, procedures, audits and training programs are understood and followed. Develops and implements standard testing protocol and frequencies and evaluates processes to ensure production is meeting standards and specifications. Supports the assessments of test results and approves recommended changes and process improvements. Reviews quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance. Periodically reports the status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies. This also includes leading any 3rd party audits and visits - such as SQF Certification and Voluntary Program audits (i.e. Organic, Gluten Free) Facilitates communication among operations and management for regular focused Management Review meetings. Manages FSQR KPI's and objectives work in partnership with the operations team to confirm goals are applicable. Contacts and manages customers relationships from a production perspective - includes addressing non-conformances with product and process. Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff. Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologies. Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production in the industry. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related industrial, scientific, or business field required. 5 to 10 years of related experience required.Physical and Environmental Working Conditions:
The work environment for this role includes both office work and plant floor work. The conditions in the office will include time using the phone and the computer while sitting. The plant floor environment will expose this individual to regularly moving mechanical parts and forklifts. The environment is ventilated, air conditioned, damp, and with vibrations. Employees are required to wear the following protective equipment: hair net, steel toed boots (or equivalent), and eye wear. Hearing protection is optional.
