EMPLOYMENT STATUS
Just cause subject to probationary period •This position works a shift between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under direction, assists in portioning and packing meals for the Meals on Wheels Program, serving lunch to Dining Senior Style participants, scheduling speakers, planning activities and holiday parties, completing program paperwork and cleaning. Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Encourages senior participation by creating a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. Organizes food service operation as required for Meals on Wheels and Dining Senior Style programs. Portions and package meals for Meals on Wheels Volunteer Driver pick up. Serves lunch on-site for Dining Senior Style participants. Cleans site after lunch, including kitchen and dining room. Ensures compliance with program policies and procedures, grant service standards, health codes and safety regulations. Schedules regular speakers and plans activities and special events. Maintains accurate records of necessary documentation for agency and funding source. Submits weekly and monthly forms in accordance with established procedures. Utilizes and operates steam table, coffee pots, refrigerator, stove and an oven, electrical heating units to maintain temperature of food. Attends staff meetings, in-service or trainings as scheduled. Recruits volunteers from site when assistance is needed. Provides information and referrals for Aging Network services as needed. Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or
GED Preferred Education and Experience:
Previous customer service work experience
