Job Description

Food Services Supervisor -
Food & Nutrition Services SUMMARY:
Provide direction to all Food Services personnel to ensure hospital goals are met. Exhibit leadership qualities that will inspire motivate and develop department into a cohesive team.
BAXTER HEALTH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and adheres to BH s standards as they appear in BH's intranet Policy Library. Required to work with the Director of Food & Nutrition Services, regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the BH Food Services Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in organizing work forces to obtain budget and production goals. Front line service dietary or food service experience is preferred. Previous healthcare experience desired.
Certifications:
Serv-Safe Manager or must be able to obtain within 6 months from date of hire and enroll and complete the Certified Dietary Managers course within 18 months.
Other:
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to identify and implement audits, inspections and programs through independent decision making. Complete understanding of all aspects of Food and Nutrition Services, including knowledge of all diets, safety, infection control, department cleanliness, productions, and sanitation, and tray deliveries, count and deposit cafeteria money daily. Ability to manage workflow, ability to communicate and interact positively with coworkers and other hospital staff. Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Ability to move about freely, extensive standing and walking. Ability to bend, squat and twist, and frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with proper body mechanics. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Will visit all areas of hospital and support facilities. Must be able to tolerate cleaning chemicals, etc.
Work Environment :
Hospital environment; works in all areas of the hospital and support facilities Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Office staff:
5 days a week, Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts. Must be willing to work flexible schedule to meet staffing need and fill in for other positions when needed.
