Job Purpose To manage various facets of forestry operations and forest management. May include forest management plans, forest development, silviculture, harvesting, road construction, hauling, planning and wood sales/purchases. Administration associated with job position (e.g. preparation of budgets, bid packages and contracts. Tracking and reporting of costs, and reviewing invoices Contract negotiation and implementation. Liaison with customers , ministries and contractors Complete SFI documents and participate in SFI internal and 3rd party audits Maintain compliance with all legislation and Certification Assist Forester III and Area Forest Manager with budget development and forecastin Participate in provincial and trade association committees Coordinate and lead work teams Coordinate and lead special projects as assigned Manage direct reports What do I need to be successful? Minimum 3 years forestry experience safety conscious, good planning , GIS, GPS skills and ability to coordinate resource, cost orientated, good communicator and good interpersonal skills, team player, knowledge of applicable forestry and safety legislation, ability to drive in a variety of field and highway conditions, ability to operate a computer and supporting software, Education Degree, diploma, or extensive operational background in the related field of work.
