Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Forestry Mulcher Operator specializing in skid steer and track loader operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for executing ecological restoration projects, land clearing, and landscape maintenance by skillfully operating heavy equipment designed for mulching and land management. Your expertise will help transform overgrown areas into healthy, sustainable landscapes while ensuring safety and efficiency on every job site. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, utilize mechanical skills, and contribute to environmental conservation efforts with a focus on precision and productivity. Duties Operate forestry mulchers attached to skid steer loaders and track loaders to clear brush, trees, and debris efficiently while maintaining safety standards Conduct routine maintenance on heavy equipment, including inspections, lubrication, minor repairs, and troubleshooting mechanical issues Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as tree trimming, land grading, and erosion control to support ecological restoration projects Use GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to accurately navigate work sites and document project progress Apply knowledge of ecological restoration principles to ensure environmentally responsible land clearing practices Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, project activities, and safety inspections for compliance purposes Communicate effectively with team members and clients to coordinate project timelines and address site-specific challenges Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, track loaders, or similar machinery in forestry or landscaping environments Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform routine maintenance on power tools and construction equipment Familiarity with GIS and GPS technology for precise navigation and mapping of work areas Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques including tree care, trimming, and ecological restoration practices Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently in various outdoor conditions Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and land management activities Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent preferred for transporting equipment between sites Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or project stakeholders This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about environmental stewardship, skilled in machinery operation, and eager to make a tangible impact through land management.
