Job Title:
Forklift Driver - Direct Placement Job Description This role involves operating a sit-down hi-lo/fork truck in a high-volume manufacturing environment to support production, warehousing, and shipping operations. You will move raw materials to production lines, transport finished goods to designated storage and shipping areas, and assist with general production tasks as needed. Positions are available on both first and third shift, with overtime required based on production demands. Responsibilities Operate a sit-down hi-lo/fork truck safely and efficiently throughout the shift, spending at least 75% of the day on equipment. Transport raw materials from storage areas to production lines to ensure continuous operation. Move finished products from production lines to warehousing and shipping areas in an organized and timely manner. Support production by loading and unloading materials at presses and other equipment as needed. Inspect parts for quality, trim parts when necessary, and ensure products meet established standards. Handle carpet assemblies weighing approximately 10-15 pounds, including sound mat, rubber adhesive, and carpet/cloth layers. Follow established manufacturing, inspection, loading, trimming, unloading, assembly, and production processes. Maintain accurate placement and staging of materials to support efficient workflow and production targets. Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and working on the production floor. Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and willingness to work overtime and weekends when required. Collaborate with line leaders, production employees, and other team members to meet production goals and efficiency targets. Participate in training and continuous improvement activities to develop skills and support advancement opportunities. Essential Skills Stable work history with at least 1-2 years of tenure in previous jobs. At least 2 recent years in a role where operating a hi-lo/fork truck comprised 75% or more of daily duties. Proven experience operating sit-down hi-lo/fork trucks in a manufacturing or production environment. Strong reliability and good attendance, including consistently arriving on time and avoiding unplanned call-ins. Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required by production demands. Ability to safely lift and handle parts and assemblies weighing approximately 10-15 pounds. Comfort working in a high-production, metrics-driven manufacturing environment. Minimum age of 18. Ability to follow safety procedures and production instructions accurately. Capability to perform basic inspection and trimming tasks to ensure product quality. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, inspection, loading, trimming, unloading, assembly, and production processes. Background in automotive or plastics manufacturing environments. Interest in developing skills in tooling, quality, maintenance, shipping, materials, or leadership roles. Willingness to learn multiple jobs and adapt to different lines or plants as needed. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to meeting production and quality targets.
