They are responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the forklift and the proper operation of the forklift at our facility, in addition to participating in cross training efforts for specific plant needs and sharing those duties with other drivers. The Forklift Operator is occasionally required to fill out bills of lading, change fuel tanks on the lift, or pick up parts, paper, objects and residue off the floor and around workstation. Duties include the completion of all required quality tests and inspections and notifying supervisors of any observed concerns in the production area related to either product handled or the safety of the facility. Other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working safely and a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
What you need to succeed:
Ability to operate industrial trucks and follow specific directions Required to pass a written and driving test to obtain operator's license Ability to work safely and comply with all safety regulations. Ability to push, pull, bend, squat, lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis, reach, kneel, and stand for up to 12 hrs. a day. Required to work daily overtime, weekend work and various shifts depending on workload. Must be willing to work any available shift. Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
