$20.90/hr Job Description This role involves operating a sit-down propane forklift in an outdoor lumber yard environment, handling long and heavy building materials, and preparing customer and delivery orders for shipment. You will work primarily outside in all weather conditions, including hot summers, cold winters, rain, and snow, and support general yard operations such as material handling, loading flatbed trucks, and keeping the yard clear and safe. Responsibilities Operate a sit-down propane forklift safely and efficiently throughout the shift. Pick materials such as wood flooring, wood decking, and PVC trim according to pick sheets and customer orders. Handle and move long materials, including wood decking up to 20 feet in length, with care to prevent damage. Prepare and stage loads on flatbed trucks for delivery, ensuring accuracy and secure placement of materials. Work primarily in the yard pulling parts and fulfilling orders from the lumber yard inventory. Use pick sheets to identify, locate, and pull the correct parts and quantities for each order. Perform loading and unloading of materials from trucks and designated storage areas. Carry out general labor tasks in the yard as needed to support daily operations. Work outdoors in all weather conditions and wear appropriate attire for hot, cold, rainy, and snowy environments. Shovel and plow the yard as needed to maintain safe and accessible work areas during winter weather. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines related to forklift operation, material handling, and yard work. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure efficient workflow and timely order completion. Maintain a clean and organized work area in the yard and around the warehouse. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manchester, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.90 - $20.90/hr.
