• Full-time The Forklift Operator provides control of all product/component moves in a safe and orderly manner. This position must comply with the applicable QPSI procedures/work instructions and customer requirements. The principle responsibility of every employee is to aid in the production of superior quality products. What our Forklift Driver will be accountable for at QPSI?
• Moving controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts of industry to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas.
• Ability to operate and enter the appropriate data in QPSI and/or customers systems as needed.
• Organizing and securing stored materials such as bales, corrugate boxes, customer products, machinery, pallets, etc.
• Loading or unloading materials/product off and/or on to pallets, racking, skids, or lifting devices.
• Performing routine post and pre-shift safety inspections to ensure suitable working nature of forklift equipment.
• Reporting to supervisor regarding any damage to racks, faulty equipment, or any other safety hazards.
• Weighing products or materials, and recording weight and further production information on labels and tags.
• Consulting, working, and coordinating with supervisors, managers, equipment manufactures, and employees regarding unloading and loading operations.
• Wrapping material loads with a wrapper and making clean the warehouse premises.
• Completing forklift operator training provided by the industry annually.
• Performing other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
• Responsible for trailer inspections to ensure free from foreign objects, inspects and holes in trailer/trailer floor.
• Forklift operators are responsible for trailer wheels being chocked before entering the trailer.
• Hours of operation are dictated upon business needs.
• Other duties as assigned. What Qualified Candidates for Forklift Operator must have to be successful at QPSI?
• High School Diploma or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification in operating forklifts is required.
• At least 1 year experience operating reach truck & sit down forklift.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to read labels and numbers.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Ability to operate in moderate speed and fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply).
• Able to follow instructions as directed by the supervisor.
