Forklift Operator (Steel Slitting)- Full Time + Overtime

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Operator specializing in Steel Slitting! Duties Operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport steel coils and other heavy materials safely within the warehouse. Manage steel slitting processes by accurately handling coils and ensuring proper positioning for cutting operations. Assist with order picking using various equipment such as pickers to fulfill customer orders efficiently. Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues to ensure optimal operation. Support warehouse management systems (WMS) by updating inventory records, logging shipments, and tracking materials movement. Maintain safety standards by adhering to OSHA regulations, practicing proper lifting techniques, and ensuring a clean, organized work environment. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate shipping & receiving activities, optimize storage solutions, and improve overall distribution workflows. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo's, or similar machinery in a warehouse or distribution setting. Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures. Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling. Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and weight assessments. Physical capability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks safely.
