Job Description:
Formax Operator - Ammunition Manufacturing Job Summary The Formax Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining Formax and automated production equipment used in the manufacturing of ammunition components and related products. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality production while maintaining strict compliance with company safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor Formax and automated production equipment used in ammunition manufacturing Maintain consistent production flow while meeting quality and production targets Inspect components and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards Perform machine adjustments, tooling changes, and minor troubleshooting as needed Identify and report equipment malfunctions, production issues, or safety concerns to supervisors or maintenance teams Complete production logs, quality checks, and operational documentation accurately Follow all OSHA, ATF, company safety policies, and ammunition manufacturing procedures Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards Support preventative maintenance activities and assist during equipment changeovers Work collaboratively with production, maintenance, and quality teams to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency Handle raw materials and components safely and responsibly throughout the production process Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience preferred Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues Ability to follow detailed work instructions and safety procedures Strong attention to detail and quality control standards Comfortable working in a production environment with repetitive tasks Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as production demands require Preferred Experience Experience operating Formax, CNC, automated manufacturing, or industrial production equipment Background in ammunition, firearms, metal fabrication, or precision manufacturing environments preferred Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes Understanding of workplace safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and regulated manufacturing environments
