Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Front Desk Insurance Coordinator to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring smooth clinic operations by managing insurance verification, patient scheduling, and medical administrative support. Your energetic approach will help foster a welcoming environment while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations. Duties Verify insurance coverage and benefits using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, and other EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems Conduct insurance verification and pre-authorizations for procedures and treatments, including Medicare and Medicaid plans Schedule patient appointments efficiently using medical scheduling tools like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Review and update patient records, ensuring accuracy in medical records management and documentation review Assist patients with intake processes, including collecting medical history, verifying insurance information, and explaining coverage details Maintain excellent phone etiquette while managing multi-line phone systems for appointment scheduling and patient inquiries Support billing processes by coding procedures accurately with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 codes, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting, including front desk or administrative support roles in clinics or dental offices Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, and medical billing processes Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is a plus; fluency in additional languages is highly desirable Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Experience working with health information management systems and understanding of medical terminology and care plans Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and typing speed (10 key typing preferred) Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for filing, documentation review, and office management tasks Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care through efficient clinic operations!
