  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Front Desk Manager / Sales Director to oversee front desk operations while driving local sales and business development for the hotel.
This dual-role position is responsible for leading and training the front desk team, ensuring excellent guest service, scheduling employees, and actively prospecting new business accounts and group opportunities within the community. This position is hands-on and requires the manager to regularly work front desk shifts while supporting daily hotel operations. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, sales-minded, and able to lead by example in a fast-paced hospitality environment. ResponsibilitiesFront Desk Management Manage daily front desk operations and ensure excellent guest service Regularly work scheduled front desk shifts Create and maintain employee schedules Hire, train, coach, and support front desk staff Monitor employee performance and enforce hotel policies and standards Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally Assist with check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and phone calls as needed Ensure front desk coverage and smooth shift transitions Maintain accurate reports, cash handling, and billing procedures Sales & Business Development Prospect and develop relationships with local businesses, contractors, sports teams, and organizations Conduct outside sales calls and client visits Generate group bookings and negotiated corporate rates Maintain relationships with existing accounts and grow repeat business Respond to sales inquiries and follow up on leads Represent the hotel at local networking opportunities and community events Work with management to achieve occupancy and revenue goals Qualifications Previous hotel front desk or hospitality management experience preferred Sales experience preferred Strong communication and customer service skills Leadership and team management abilities Ability to multitask and stay organized Computer skills and experience with hotel reservation systems preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Schedule Full-time Must be available to work front desk shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
