Full-Time, Flexible Hours, Benefits Eligible Position Summary The Front Office Receptionist for the Chicago Heights Park District serves as the primary point of contact for the Recreation Center and administrative offices. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to residents, program participants, vendors, and visitors while managing daily front desk operations in a professional and efficient manner. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, technologically proficient, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. This individual must demonstrate strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain accurate records using the Park District's registration and database systems. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet and assist residents, patrons, staff, and visitors in a courteous, professional, and welcoming manner Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls while responding to general inquiries regarding programs, memberships, rentals, facilities, and services Process program registrations, memberships, facility rentals, permits, and payments using the Park District's registration/database software Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and account information within district systems Handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions in accordance with Park District financial procedures and balance daily receipts accurately Monitor and respond to email inquiries and electronic communications in a timely and professional manner Assist with facility scheduling, room reservations, and related administrative processes Provide general administrative support including data entry, filing, scanning, document preparation, and record maintenance Communicate effectively with staff across all departments to ensure accurate and consistent information is provided to the public Maintain confidentiality of sensitive customer and district information Ensure the front desk, lobby, and reception areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming Demonstrate punctuality, dependability, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively within a diverse community setting Support a positive team environment and assist with additional duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related coursework preferred Previous customer service, receptionist, front desk, or administrative experience preferred Strong computer and technology skills with the ability to quickly learn and navigate registration and database software systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and email communication Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and work efficiently in a busy office environment Ability to maintain professionalism and composure when addressing customer concerns Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are strongly preferred Working Conditions Primarily indoor office and recreation facility environment Flexible schedule required, including occasional evening and weekend hours based on facility operations and programming needs Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time Ability to occasionally lift and move items up to 25 pounds Key Competencies Exceptional Customer Service Professional Communication Skills Technical and Computer Proficiency Attention toDetail and Accuracy Organizational and Time Management Skills Problem-Solving Ability Teamwork and Collaboration Reliability and Professionalism Pay:
