Front of the House Host

Our hostess (or host) is the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for providing a warm welcome, managing the seating flow to maximize revenue, and handling reservations. Key duties include greeting customers, managing the floor plan, estimating wait times, answering phones, and supporting service staff to ensure a positive dining experience.

Core Responsibilities Welcoming Guests:

Greeting patrons warmly upon arrival and providing a positive first impression.

Seating & Table Management:

Escorting guests to tables, providing menus, and managing the seating chart to balance server workloads.

Reservation & Waitlist Management:

Handling phone bookings, managing in-person waitlists, and providing accurate wait time estimates.

Communication Hub:

Acting as a liaison between guests and staff to communicate special requests, allergies, or large party needs.

Service Support:

Assisting servers by clearing tables, restocking materials, and preparing to-go orders during busy periods.

Facility Maintenance:

Ensuring the entrance, host stand, and menus are clean and presentable.

Key Skills & Requirements Interpersonal Skills:

Exceptional friendliness, professionalism, and customer service skills, often requiring "grace under pressure" during high-volume shifts.

Organizational Ability:

Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage seating, phone calls, and guests simultaneously.

Technical Familiarity:

Experience with reservation software or ability to learn POS systems.

Physical Stamina:

Capability to stand and walk for long periods.

Availability:

Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays

Pay:

$16.90 - $25.50 per hour
