Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our dynamic financial team. In this vital role, you will manage the entire accounting cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial activities. Your expertise will support the organization's financial health by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and overseeing payroll and tax processes. Duties Manage full-cycle bookkeeping functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance. Reconcile balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements accurately on a regular basis. Oversee payroll processing using systems like ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, or Kronos; ensure timely and accurate employee payments. Handle tax filings, including sales tax, payroll taxes, and other governmental reporting requirements with precision. Maintain detailed records of financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian. Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and resolve issues promptly. Support internal audits by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Assist with budgeting processes and provide insights into financial data for management decision-making. Skills Extensive experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Workday or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices. Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal control frameworks. Proficiency in payroll management systems such as ADP or Paychex; experience with Kronos or UltiPro is a plus. Expertise in account reconciliation, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and balance sheet analysis. Ability to perform data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills; attention to detail is essential. Solid understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, account analysis, budgeting and credit analysis. Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll and non-profit accounting is advantageous. Strong mathematical skills combined with excellent organizational abilities for managing multiple accounts efficiently. Experience working in public accounting or with complex corporate or governmental accounting environments preferred.
