Full-Time Role Overview Bertram Communications is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage our end-to-end financial record-keeping. You will be responsible for maintaining our general ledger, processing payroll, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial statements. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a deep understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities General Ledger Management:
Maintain a complete and accurate general ledger; perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
Accounts Payable/Receivable:
Manage the full cycle of A/P (vendor invoices and payments) and A/R (customer billing and collections).
Financial Reporting:
Prepare balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow reports for management review.
Payroll Processing:
Administer payroll for staff, including tax filings, benefits deductions, and compliance with WI state labor laws.
Bank Reconciliation:
Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts and credit cards.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file sales and use tax returns; assist external CPAs with annual tax preparation and audits.
Project Tracking:
Monitor department budgets and capital expenditures related to network infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications Experience:
5+ years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or in a similar senior accounting role.
Software Proficiency:
Expert-level knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop/Online and Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred. CPA preferred.
Skills:
• Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
