Machine Shop Environment $20 for First shift and $22 for Third shift In Sheboygan

POSITION SUMMARY

 To remove excess metal from die casting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Works from verbal instructions and process sheets. Machine is hydraulically operated with two hand levers for safety. Work consists of inserting casting between dies and activating machine by holding down two levers. Some parts drop thru, other are removed by hand and placed in a container.
• Work is of a light nature and is performed in a sitting or standing position. Some walking, stooping, and bending is involved.
• Operator may be responsible for set up of trim dies.
• Operator may load/unload roto and hot wash using a hydraulic dump assist.
• Operator may load/unload a blast machine and pack the parts according to process sheet.
• Operator may load the heat treat oven and start the cycle. When complete operator may unload and pack the parts according to the process sheet.
• Operator will be required to perform some moving of material to facilitate production. Will be required to remove and place skid frames.
• Hazards are possible: cuts and bruises, but normal safety precautions make work quite safe.
• Working conditions are good, although some dirt and oil fumes are encountered. No excessive heat or cold is experienced.
• Operator is not responsible for the work of others, supervises no one, and supervision received is frequent.
• Other responsibilities as assigned or required.

Requirements:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work is performed in standing position involving some walking, bending, stooping, and handling of light materials.
• Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to: 5 lbs. constantly 35 lbs. frequently 75 lbs. occasionally
• Hazards that could potentially be present are serious cuts, burns, bruises, and possible permanent injury. While the job has definite hazards, caution by the operator will reduce hazards to a minimum.
• Regular exposure to heat, dirt, grease, and fumes.
• Regular exposure to noise levels exceeding 85 db (hearing protection required when exposure exceeds 85db).

Education/Training Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Skills/Experience Required:

• Works from verbal instruction from supervisor.
• Must be able to read, write, add, and subtract.
•  Understand basic machine operations
•  Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• Three weeks training is usually sufficient to make the average person a proficient operator.
