Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing construction and security integration company based in Ballston Lake, NY. This is a hands-on accounting role responsible for owning the books, managing AP/AR workflows, completing monthly closes, and supporting ownership and external advisors with accurate, timely financial information. It is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the details, improving processes, and keeping accounting operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Full-Cycle Bookkeeping & Close Own full-cycle bookkeeping including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliations Complete accurate and timely monthly closes Prepare monthly financial statements for ownership Maintain clean, organized, audit-ready records Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Manage Accounts Payable including invoice coding, approvals, and payment scheduling Manage Accounts Receivable including invoicing support, AR aging, and collections coordination Work with administrative staff to consolidate and streamline AP/AR activities Job Costing & Operational Accounting Maintain accurate job costing for labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead Reconcile job cost data between accounting and operational systems Support margin tracking by job, customer, and service line Identify and resolve discrepancies in coordination with operations Payroll & Compliance Support Support payroll processing and labor allocation Calculate and pay sales commissions File and pay sales tax, payroll tax, and compliance documentation Coordinate with external CPA for tax filings, audits, and year-end close Cash & Reporting Monitor cash balances and short-term cash needs Support cash flow visibility and AR collections tracking Respond to financial data requests from ownership, virtual CFO, and CPA Systems & Process Improvement Serve as the primary owner of accounting workflows and documentation Work across accounting, job costing, and CRM systems Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting Qualifications 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping Experience in construction, contracting, or job-costing environments Strong understanding of month-end close and reconciliations High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to manage accounting responsibilities independently Strong Excel skills
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
