Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Full-Time Academic and Health safety 1-1 Aide to support a middle school-aged girl with in her educational and developmental journey. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing personalized academic assistance, behavior management, and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for working with children, especially those with diverse learning needs, and will be committed to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. This position is paid and requires full-time availability to ensure consistent support and progress. Duties Provide one-on-one academic support at school tailored to the student's individual learning plan, including assistance with literacy, math, and curriculum activities Implement behavior management strategies (primarily related to self regulation and executive functioning challenges due to an underlying medical condition) to promote positive behaviors and social skills in accordance with the student's IEP (Individualized Education Program) Support classroom management by helping maintain a structured, safe, and engaging environment during lessons and activities Assist with lesson planning and curriculum development to meet the student's educational goals, including early childhood education principles when applicable Use communication skills effectively to collaborate with teachers, therapists, parents, and other team members regarding progress and strategies Incorporate specialized techniques such as Structured Literacy and Math, Montessori methods when appropriate to enhance learning experiences Support the student's emotional well-being through encouragement, patience, and consistent routines Qualifications Prior experience (minimum 5 years) working with children in educational settings, preferably in self contained or non public school setting with middle school-aged students Knowledge of special education practices, including familiarity with IEPs and behavior management techniques Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and supporting inclusion into general education settings and extra circulars for social role modeling Strong communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships with students and team members Background in classroom management, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and behavior support Certifications or training working with individuals with disabilities, or early childhood education are a plus Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for supporting children's growth and development This role offers an inspiring chance to empower a young learner through personalized academic support while fostering confidence and independence.

$50.00 - $80.00 per hour
