Job Description
- Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills and knowledge of current procedures in the Automotive Technology field.
- Develops and reviews program syllabi, goals and objectives according to approved curriculum and course syllabi standards.
- Evaluates and reviews students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Instructs, advises and counsels students, and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.
- Maintains strict safety rules in classroom and lab environment.
- Monitors the use of supplies, materials and equipment.
- Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests.
- Maintains and reviews program certification requirements, as appropriate for program accreditation standards.
- Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
- Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
- Demonstrates and ensures the use of appropriate and effective teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures (including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping).
- Serves on committees.
- Maintains ASE certifications and ensures qualifications for employment and updated as necessary in technical fields.
- Promotes good public relations via contacts and regular communications with business, industry and the public sector; and
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Must possess and demonstrate a High School diploma or equivalent AND an automotive technology diploma from an accredited private or public postsecondary institution.PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate the following: Associate's degree or higher and an automotive technology diploma from an accredited private or public postsecondary institution .- Experience working on electric vehicles.
- ASE certified.
- May be required to work at other locations and other locations within the community.
