In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas of the gym are spotless, sanitized, and well-maintained. Your proactive approach will help promote a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors, supporting the overall cleanliness and safety standards of our facility. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of gym floors, locker rooms, showers, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning tools and techniques. Maintain cleanliness of equipment, benches, weights, and other fitness amenities to ensure a hygienic environment. Conduct routine custodial tasks including trash removal, disinfecting surfaces, restocking supplies like paper towels, toilet paper and soap dispensers. Utilize commercial cleaning equipment effectively to uphold high standards of sanitation and appearance. Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues to facilities management. Follow safety protocols during cleaning procedures to prevent accidents or injuries. Support overall facilities maintenance by ensuring all areas are organized and free of hazards. Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care, buffing, and use of cleaning chemicals. Experience with facilities maintenance or porter duties is a plus. Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail with a proactive attitude toward maintaining cleanliness standards. Physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
