Full Time Performing Arts (Music) Teacher for Performing Arts Preschool

Stages Academy, a performing arts preschool and after-school program, is looking for a Music teacher for our Preschool and PreK students at our Levittown location! We are a school based on the Reggio Emilia approach to education and provide a program that challenges a child's whole brain by putting academics and the arts on an even playing field. We are looking to hire a full-time teacher to lead Music classes for students aged 2 to 5 years old. Contrary to typical Preschool/Pre-K programs, our school offers a full academic curriculum as well as a full arts curriculum. Students attend classes on a rotational basis, giving them the opportunity to learn from multiple teachers, across multiple disciplines throughout the day. Our Performing Arts teachers provide instruction in musicality, performance, social-emotional education and develop performance pieces for our students' semi-annual recitals. This position is a good fit for someone who has the ability to teach basic music and drama skills to young children, and is familiar with working with children in this age group. The right candidate for this position will have an energetic and lively personality, be able to conduct their classes independently (with no assistant in the room), and will make learning fun for our students!

The ideal candidate should:

have a degree in theater, music, OR relevant experience, have experience teaching music, have experience supervising young children, have experience writing and implementing weekly lesson plans, be friendly, detail oriented, creative, and team players. We pay a minimum of $17/hour with an opportunity throughout the first year to earn an additional $1.50 per hour! Pay is commensurate with your level of education.
