Job Description

Garde Manger — Salad Station and Cold Prep Full-Time, Year-Round or Seasonal Available Overview American Beech in Greenport, NY is hiring a full-time Garde Manger for a year-round position. We are a busy, standards-driven kitchen with strong seasonality; this is not a temporary role — we're building a committed, long-term culinary team. Our business peaks late May through mid-October, with July and August at highest volume. We operate year-round and need a Garde Manger who wants stability, consistency, and the opportunity to grow within a professional kitchen. Seasonal Role is also an option. This is a working, hands-on position responsible for all cold station production: salads, charcuterie, cold appetizers, composed plates, dressings, pickles, and garnish/final presentation. You'll ensure consistent quality, maintain mise en place, manage cold prep schedules, and support training for junior cooks. We care deeply about food, execution, and consistency — show up ready to work and ready to support the team. Maintain clear communication, cleanliness, and respect for coworkers. We will train on house recipes and standards, but this restaurant runs real volume. You must stay organized, focused, and composed when service gets busy, and lead with a positive attitude even on the hardest days.
